Boza named SVP, Strategic Planning Director at FCB Chicago

FCB Chicago announces international advertising executive and FCB veteran Walter Boza has joined the agency as SVP, strategic planning director. Boza hails from FCB Caracas, where he was general manager of the Venezuelan agency. Boza brings more than 20 years of international advertising experience in consumer research, strategic planning, account management and agency management to his role. While at FCB Caracas, he led the agency to numerous new business wins while enhancing its creative output. In his new post, he will leverage his expertise to oversee FCB Chicago’s multicultural planning function, reporting to John Kenny, EVP strategic planning director.

“Walter set a new precedent for the Caracas office, helping it raise the creative bar and enabling it to be routinely named one of the country’s top creative shops,” said Michael Fassnacht, president and CEO of FCB Chicago. “We know he will bring enthusiasm and momentum to our team in Chicago as we grow our presence in today’s cross-cultural marketplace, where powerful human truths across all cultural groups are the key for success.”

Prior to his role at FCB Caracas, Boza served as management and planning director in the agency’s former Puerto Rico office. While there, he established the planning discipline and maintained full responsibility for account management and strategic planning. His background also includes a stint as vice president of strategic planning for FCB Caracas, country director and regional account director for Ipsos ASI in Caracas, and research analyst for the Latin American division of GTECH in Boca Raton, Florida.

“I am truly excited to join the Chicago office with its legacy of innovative, iconic advertising” said Boza. “This new challenge is a natural transition for me, both professionally and personally. We have a great team in place and I’m confident we can become a game changer in the multicultural market.”
