Bravo 90s Class Reunion to Meet May 16, 2015 in New York ‘Who’s Who’ of Industry Pioneers

Close to 100 former employees of The Bravo Group, the legendary agency of the 90s, will gather in New York City on Saturday, May 16 right after the upfronts.

Organized by Creative Director Carlos F. Torres and Marixsa Rodríguez, with a heavy social media activity over the past several months, the event will be a “Who’s Who” of advertising history to US Hispanic audiences.

Key leaders of the agency are expected to attend including Daisy Exposito, CEO and Bravo founder; and Gloria Constanza, media director. Sara Sunshine, who in the 1960’s was one of a handfull of visionaries who started Spanish-language advertising efforts in the U.S., will also be there.

During the 90s, Y&R’s Bravo Group rose to the industry’s very top, becoming the largest agency serving the U.S. Hispanic markets — with billings of half a billion dollars, offices in New York, Miami and San Francisco and close to 500 employees, a record that remains unmatched a decade and a half later.

The agency consistenly won every major advertising award for Creative, Planning and Media.

A stint at Bravo is a shared experience for key players in today’s multicultural marketing efforts in the U.S.

Befittingly, the event is being billed as the Bravo 90s Class Reunion, launched as a Facebook group gathering, “Former employees, clients, partners, suppliers and others whose lives revolved around The Bravo Group during the 90s and beyond. Our purpose is to relive old memories, retell told stories and meet May 16, 2015 in the Big Apple”.

The Bravo 90s Class Reunion will take place at Manhattan’s landmark La Nacional, the city’s oldest Spanish restaurant on West 14th Street, frequented over the years by a host of notables such as Federico García Lorca, whose long hours there resulted in El Poeta en Nueva York.

The Bravo 90s Class Reunion is part of an ongoing effort to collect living memories of historic figures in an industry that now employs tens of thousands of people.
