Marco joins GALLEGOS UNITED

GALLEGOS United announced that Harvey Marco has joined the agency as Chief Creative Officer and Co-President. This news comes in conjunction with the announcement that current CCO and Co-President Dave Damman will leave the agency at the end of July.

“We’re certainly sad to see Dave go, but we’re not naïve to the fact that there is more to life than what happens within the agency’s four walls,” said John Gallegos, CEO, UNITED COLLECTIVE. “Dave has been an agent of change at GALLEGOS United; and it is with a tremendous amount of gratitude and respect that we say goodbye to Dave.”

Damman played a large role in the recent formation of UNITED COLLECTIVE; and pushed both GALLEGOS United and content production agency, LUNA United, to a new level of creative excellence. In addition to his CCO title, Damman also served as Co-President alongside Andrew Delbridge. Given the circumstances of his departure, Damman was instrumental in the selection and hiring of his replacement.

“The growth and momentum we’ve seen at GALLEGOS United over the past year is exhilarating,” said Gallegos. “The fact that this independent agency I started 16 years ago is now attracting creative talent of Dave and Harvey’s caliber is a testament to how important our mission of cultural attunement is to the advertising industry and the shifting demographics of society in the U.S.”

“It’s with great excitement and anticipation that we welcome Harvey to GALLEGOS United,” added Gallegos. “Dave, Andrew and I all believe Harvey is the perfect person to continue our upward trajectory and take this agency to the next level creatively.”

Marco joins GALLEGOS United from WPP’s Garage Team Mazda, an agency he helped launch, serving as their Chief Creative Officer since 2010. His career spans more than 20 years and includes positions at notable agencies such as, JWT NY, SAATCHI & SAATCHI Los Angeles, and Fallon. It was at Fallon’s Minneapolis office that Marco and Damman first crossed professional paths.

Marco’s creative portfolio features diverse and memorable work such as Human Rights Watch, Lee Jeans, Macy’s, Citi Bank, Miller Lite, Toyota, and most recently the ‘Driving Matters’ campaign for Mazda. His work has medaled in multiple categories in every award show including, Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show, Effie’s, Webbies, and CLIOs.

“I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to be joining this amazing company,” said Marco. “John, Andrew, Dave and the leadership of GALLEGOS United have built something that I passionately believe in. A creatively driven company, a deep well of capabilities, and a culturally diverse mindset that reflects the world we live in.”

“At GALLEGOS United, I’ve joined a team who champions the work, and understands its role the bigger social narrative,” added Marco.
