The Creative Process Has Lots of Room for Improvement

Nearly half of US creative professionals say the creative process could be better, according to February 2016 research. Just 2% of respondents said it was already perfect.

Hightail, which provides collaboration process services to creative professionals, surveyed more than 400 US creatives from a variety of industries.

When asked about the effectiveness of the creative process, 23% of respondents said it was effective, and 28% said it was OK.

Some 4% of creative professionals said it was completely ineffective.

Poor project management may be a reason why some respondents feel the creative process can be better. In fact, more than a third of US creative professionals said one of the main challenges of creative projects was poor project management.

Furthermore, 32% of respondents said that unclear client feedback was also challenging to the creative process.

Other challenges creative professionals faced included inefficient review processes and unclear approval processes.
