Telemundo Network launches new News Streams

NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced that it has joined forces with Amazon to publish new Spanish-language content on Alexa, Amazon’s cloud-based voice service, available through the company’s family of Echo devices.

Starting today, Telemundo will provide streams of its top television programming including top stories and special reports from award-winning Telemundo Noticias and shows including Al Rojo Vivo, Suelta La Sopa and Un Nuevo Día, that will be accessible through Alexa en Español or multi-lingual mode. To enable news streams, users can visit “Flash Briefing” in the Alexa app.

Alexa customers will be able to play content from each individual show and the network by asking for it by name using simple phrases such as “Alexa, dame las noticias de Telemundo” (Alexa, give me Telemundo News) or “Alexa, dame la noticias de Al Rojo Vivo” (Alexa, give me the news from Al Rojo Vivo.) These news streams will be updated daily, Monday through Friday, and will be available in real-time while the show has aired on broadcast television.

“Given that U.S. Hispanics continue to be at the forefront of technology adoption, in this case ambient computing, we are excited to extend our partnership with Amazon to offer additional content,” said Peter Blacker, EVP, Revenue Strategy & Innovation for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises.  “Currently the fastest growing and most connected U.S. demographic, U.S. Hispanic audiences will now be able to access the best Hispanic news and entertainment news directly on Alexa enabled devices.”
