The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation announced the appointment of Becky Villaescusa as Vice President of Strategic Planning & Corporate Development. In this role, Villaescusa will report directly to Manolo Díaz, Senior Vice President of the Latin GRAMMY Foundation — the charity arm of The Latin Recording Academy®. The new appointee will mainly be responsible for the organization's fundraising efforts and increasing awareness of the wide-range of programs offered by the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation.
"With a seasoned professional like Becky at the Foundation's helm, we are poised to raise the bar of its strategic objectives and take all of our programs and initiatives to the next level," said Diaz. "Becky brings a wealth of experience to the Foundation. Incorporating her multiple disciplines will help champion our mission."
During Villaescusa's six-year term as executive vice president at Latin World Entertainment she is credited with expanding the talent roster to include Cristián de la Fuente, Raúl de Molina, Blanca Soto, Karla Martínez, and Alejandra Espinoza. She led the company's new corporate venture initiative with well-known brands such as Walmart, Target, Revlon, and many others. Villaescusa supervised negotiations between talent and studios like ABC Studios, Disney Buena Vista, Univision, Telemundo, and Televisa. In addition to securing the literary rights to "Killer Women," an English adaptation for a television series purchased by ABC Network featuring Sofia Vergara as executive producer.

Prior to joining Latin World Entertainment, Villaescusa served as senior executive producer at Univision for more than 10 years where she was responsible for developing "Escándalo TV," "El Show De Cristina," and "Control," among other original content for the network. In the early chapter of her career, she developed an expertise in the public relations sector for governmental campaigns, including Dr. Pedro J. Rosselló's bid for Governor of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
