BVK/Meka Appoints New Managing Officers.

Gonzalo J. Gonzalez has been promoted to Managing Officer to head BVK/Meka in Miami. He was previously the agency’s Vice-President of Client Services for the past five years overseeing the management and strategic planning. Ileana Aleman-Rickenbach has been promoted to Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of BVK/Meka’s Miami office. She was previously the agency’s Vice-President – Creative Director for the past eight years.

“Gonzalo’s experience in the communications industry has been key to the company’s growth,” said Herman Echevarria, Chairman and CEO of BVK/Meka.

“With him at the helm, his leadership and vision will continue to move the agency forward, especially in the rapidly growing U.S. Hispanic market.” Gonzalez has over 17 years of experience in the communications industry.

He began his career on the client side, as marketing manager at Mitsubishi-Venezuela. His entrepreneurial and creative spirit moved him to jump to the agency side by joining Leo Burnett Venezuela where he worked for more than 8 years with multinational clients such as Shell, United Distillers, and Goodyear, in Latin American projects. Before joining BVK/Meka he managed the McDonald’s U.S. Hispanic account with DRM/DDB in Miami.

Aleman-Rickenbach has led the creation of memorable and effective campaigns for all clients of BVK/Meka, from Sprint and SouthWest Airlines Vacations to Southeast Toyota and Kahlua.

Though she began her career with Design Studio in Puerto Rico, Aleman-Rickenbach is one of Meka’s original team. Ileana has won every almost every major award in the industry. Her portfolio ranges across all media and client categories, from national consumer TV to high technology, with brands such as: Microsoft, Wrangler Jeans, Nickelodeon, The Disney Consumer Products, The Prudential, CIBA Vision and Texaco.
