Carlos Montemayor Honored By Hispanic Magazine.

Carlos Montemayor, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Montemayor y Asociados, will be honored on Aug. 30 at HISPANIC Magazine’s 10th annual Hispanic Achievement Awards for his contributions to the communications field. The award coincides with Montemayor’s 33rd anniversary in the advertising industry.

The Hispanic Achievement Awards honor Hispanic Americans who have made significant contributions in such categories as communications, education, health, business, the military, and entertainment. Farmers Insurance will present Montemayor with his award at a gala event at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.

“The Hispanic Achievement Award is a great personal honor and comes at an exciting time in my career and in Hispanic marketing,” Montemayor comments. “When I started Montemayor y Asociados in 1983, not many people thought Hispanics were a viable market for ad dollar spending. Today, when a lot of general marketing budgets are shrinking, the smart companies are scurrying to figure out how to reach or increase their hold on the growing Latino population. This is a great time to be in the Hispanic marketing business.”

The Hispanic Achievement Award comes on the heels of another Montemayor honor. The Chrysler Group, a Montemayor y Asociados client since 1987, is sponsoring Carlos Montemayor’s participation in the Minority Business Executive Program at Tuck School, located on the campus of Dartmouth College, in July.

The Tuck School of Business received “top score” in the Wall Street Journal’s premier ranking of MBA programs worldwide. The Minority Business Executive Program, annually held in July, provides courses for minority business owners and executives to help achieve business goals.
