Manhattan Gallery To Exhibit Works of Three Prominent Cuban-American Painters.

King Fine Arts gallery will conduct an exclusive public exhibition of three prominent Cuban-American painters — Humberto Calzada, Hugo Consuegra and Baruj Salinas – beginning Friday, February 28. A private opening reception for the exhibit, entitled Three Cuban Masters: Three Visions, One Reality, will be held at the gallery Thursday, February 27, from 6 – 9 PM. Humberto Calzada and Baruj Salinas will be present, and this will be the first exhibition of Hugo Consuegra’s work since his death last month. Approximately 30 paintings, including new works, will be shown. King Fine Arts, owned by Carlos Bergantinos, is located at 8-10 West 19th Street (2nd Floor).

It will be open to the public between 10 AM and 5 PM Mon-Thur (10 AM – 6:30 PM Fridays) until March 20, 2003.

Three Cuban Masters; Three Visions; One Reality is sponsored by the internationally recognized structural engineering firm Cantor Seinuk, a division of WSP Group. Cantor Seinuk has been involved in some of the largest and most recognizable projects in the United States, Europe, the Philippines, South America, the Middle East, and the Far East, including Trump Tower in New York and the Messeturm Tower in Frankfurt.

Artist Humberto Calzada has had more than forty one-man shows and his work has been featured in articles appearing in The Washington Times, The Herald Tribune, and La Raza.

Artist Hugo Consuegra was one of the most prolific Cuban-American artists in the world. This exhibit will feature some of the last paintings done by Consuegra prior to his death in January 2003.

Artist Baruj Salinas’s work has been shown in more than forty one-man and group shows in Spain, Israel, Switzerland, Mexico, Colombia, Hungary and the United States.
