Univision TV Star Raul de Molina (El Grodo) Publishing Deal.

David J. Pecker, Chairman, President and CEO of American Media, Inc., announced AMI has signed agreements to pursue various publishing opportunities with the Hispanic market’s premiere talent agency, Latin World Entertainment, and Univision TV star Raul de Molina.

Latin World represents such international Latino stars as Sofia Vergara, Ana Maria Orozco, Myrka Dellanos, Marta Susana, Karla Martinez and de Molina. It is also actively involved in development projects for both movies and television. The agreement with AMI is to jointly produce publications, including magazines, paperbacks and hard cover books that utilize this talent pool for distribution in the United States, Mexico and Latin America.

“Latin World will help open new doors for AMI into the Hispanic celebrity marketplace,” said Mr. Pecker. “We have already established our Latino Magazine Group, which consists of one of the best selling Spanish-language celebrity magazine on the newsstand, Mira!, as well as our upcoming launches of Shape En Español and Men’s Fitness En Español. The titles we develop with Latin World will become an integral part of this group.”

Latin World President Luis Balaguer, commented, “We are thrilled about partnering with American Media. David and his team have built the best Hispanic magazine distribution network in the country, and it will allow us to quickly and successfully bring the titles we do together to market.”

The first project is a magazine edited by Raul de Molina, better known to his millions of Univision fans as the co-host of the hit celebrity entertainment show “El Gordo Y La Flaca”.

Mr. de Molina’s magazine will be based on all of the celebrity interviews he has done and exclusive photos he has taken over the years of the world’s most famous Latinos. Mr. de Molina promises the magazine will reveal “their real secrets and scandals.”

Regarding the agreement with Mr. de Molina, Mr. Pecker said, “Raul, or El Gordo as he is better known, is an invited guest into more homes than NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox reach combined. We expect that his name will carry the same weight in print. Together with Luis, I could not ask for better partners.”
