American Opinions On The Economy Have Improved Since The Start Of The War.

According to a ongoing survey focusing on the Iraq War and its impact on consumer spending by Universal McCann, Americans are more positive about the overall state of the economy since the War with Iraq began last week.

The most recent survey, the third in a continuing weekly series was completed on March 21st, revealed that 27% of Americans felt the U.S. economy was strong.

Since the War started, more Americans are following events in Iraq “closely.” According to the latest survey, 34% of respondents stated that they are watching the War “extremely closely.”

Consumer sentiments regarding traveling have grown more negative, however, as 43% of Americans feel that now is a bad time to fly on an airplane and 38% feel that taking a vacation trip at the present time is a bad idea.
