Bonita K. Coleman – Director of Chrysler Brand Communications @ Chrysler Group.

Chrysler Group announced the appointment of Bonita K. Coleman as Director-Chrysler Brand Communications. Coleman will report to Tom Marinelli, Vice President-Chrysler Marketing & Vehicle Brand Team.

In this position, Coleman will be responsible for directing all marketing communications for Chrysler products. She joins Jay Kuhnie (Jeep(R)) and Julie Roehm (Dodge) as the Chrysler Group’s senior executives in charge of all advertising and marketing programs for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands. Previously, Coleman was President and Chief Operating Officer of Nia Enterprises, a company that she co-founded to provide database services and marketing intelligence about African-American women and their families to Fortune 500 corporations.

Prior to Nia Enterprises, Coleman held positions of increasing responsibility at the Chrysler Group. She joined the automotive company in 1993 as Manager-Marketing Strategies and later oversaw product marketing as Director of Dodge Car Marketing Plans. Coleman also held positions in sales and marketing with IBM Corporation in Southfield, Michigan.

“Obviously, Bonita brings a wealth of experience back into our organization,” said Marinelli. “She knows the car business, a result of her 7 years with Chrysler, and her previous role on the Dodge Marketing Team. Also, she has a keen understanding of consumers and the strategies and tactics needed to effectively reach and communicate in the marketplace.” Coleman holds an undergraduate degree in journalism from Howard University and a masters in business administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business.
