The Changing Role Of Human Resources In The Internet Age.

Human resources experts from around the world will meet in Mexico City later this month to discuss how the Internet is changing the way they conduct business.

The Conference Board’s 2001 Human Resources Conference: Strategies for Aligning HR Management with Business Goals in the Internet Age will be held April 25-26 at the Hotel Nikko in Mexico City. The meeting is being organized and hosted with the Mexican Association in Human Resources Direction (AMEDIRH).

The meeting is sponsored by APASCO, Hewlett Packard, SAP, Shore Asociados InterSearch, and Towers Perrin. It is supported by Expansion.

“The Internet is radically transforming the way HR professionals conduct business,” says John Antonio Negroni, Conference Program Director. “But HR executives must understand the Internet enough to position their firms well in the 21st Century.”

The opening session, “Economic, Political and Social Dynamics in Mexico During the New Fox Sexenio: Implications for HR Management,” will feature Alfonso Pasquel, President and General Director, AeroMexico, Roberto Sonnenberger, President and General Director, Polaroid, and Ernest Martens Rebolledo, Secretary of Energy, Federal Government of Mexico and Former President, Union Carbide-Mexico, Grupo Vitro and Grupo Cintra.

The introductory keynote address, “Latest Practices and Trends in Human Resources Management,” will feature German Suarez, Director of Human Resources, 3M de Mexico and President, AMEDIRH, Pierre A. Froidevaux, CEO, APASCO, and Rodolfo Gallegos Duarte, Director of Corporate Human Resources, APASCO.

“HR Technology: Transforming HR Practices on the Internet” will be addressed by Gustavo Perez Rios, Human Resources Vice President, Grupo Televisa, Fred Machado, Chief Talent Officer of America OnLine, AOL, John Muster, Professor, University of California at Berkeley, USA, and Raul Pardo, General Director, LaGente.com.

The luncheon session and keynote address, “E-Human Resources: Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime” will be addressed by Fernando Fernandez de Cordova, CEO, Shore Intersearch, Miguel Cruz Celis, General Director, SAP Mexico, and Horacio Fernandez Trevino, Vice President of Sales, Hewlett Packard de Mexico.
