Juan Williams To Lead Panel On Media Diversity.

Journalist, author and commentator Juan Williams will address the third annual Service to America Symposium on June 11, and later moderate a panel on diversity in media.

During his 21-year career at The Washington Post, Williams served as editorial writer, op-ed columnist and White House reporter. He currently hosts National Public Radio’s program Talk of the Nation,serves as contributing political analyst for the Fox News Channel and as a regular panelist on Fox News Sunday.

Williams also will introduce and lead a panel featuring Hugh Price, president and CEO of the National Urban League; Raul Yzaguirre, president and CEO of National Council of La Raza; Leo Ramos of PAX Television, and Rita O’Neill of WCSC-TV. The panel will explore media diversity issues, including hiring practices and programming.

The Service to America Summit recognizes and encourages outstanding community service by broadcasters and their community partners. Sponsored by NABEF and Bonneville International Corporation, the symposium and evening awards banquet will take place June 11 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, DC. Muhammad Ali will also be on hand to receive the Leadership Award and the Crystal Radio Award Winners, who previously received their awards during the NAB2001 Radio Luncheon in Las Vegas for their outstanding community service, will be honored as well.
