Kmart Announces Executive Promotions.

Kmart Corporation announced the promotions of Barbara J. Firment to the position of Vice President Advertising and In-Store Event Marketing and Rick Noechel to Vice President Controller, effective immediately.

Firment will report directly to Doug Meissner, Senior Vice President Sales and Advertising, and oversee the weekly circular, newspaper advertising and in-store events. Firment joined Kmart in 1970 and has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout her career, most recently as Operations Vice President, Advertising. Firment replaces Larry Davis who left the company August 29.

“Barbara Firment’s knowledge and experience with the company have positioned her well to oversee Kmart’s advertising and in-store marketing events,” said Meissner.

Noechel, who joined Kmart earlier this year as Divisional Vice President, Financial Reporting, will report directly to John McDonald, Jr., Senior Vice President Finance & Treasurer. Noechel’s financial background includes experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers and DaimlerChrysler Corp.

“By taking on this new role, Rick Noechel will continue to benefit the company with his broad and extensive background,” said McDonald.
