Como Se Forma Una Rumba To Premier In NYC.

The new documentary film “Como se forma una Rumba”® (How to create a Rumba) written, produced and directed by Iván Acosta is ready to go. On January 26th, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. A.S.C.A.P. of New York, will present a private screening of this new movie about the origins of some of the most popular Cuban rhythms.

There are conversations, testimonies and a lot of “descarga cubana”. “Como se forma una Rumba” has an all stars cast formed by: Chico O’Farrill, Art Farmer, Juan Pablo Torres, Israel Kantor, Alfredo Valdéz Jr. Horacio El Negro Hernández, José Fajardo, Malena Burke, Ulices del Toro, David Oquendo, Armando López, Aguedo Valdéz Luna, Vicente Sanchez, Candido Camero, Carlos y Marta, Paquito Hechavarria, Aryan Vasquez, Chichilita and the Super Son Cubano Orchestra.

“Como se forma una Rumba” will be also be shown in some Film Festivals in the United States and around the world. Acosta also wrote and directed the original play “El Super” and wrote and directed the feature film “Amigos”
And was the creator and producer of the Latin Jazz USA series of concerts at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York and at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach.
