Danny De La Paz To Star In Film Directed By Alfredo Ramos & Lorenzo Durand.

Popular Latin actor Danny De La Paz will star in an upcoming film entitled “Suckers” to be released and distributed by Ground-Zero Entertainment. The highly anticipated comedy unfolds a story line about three young Latin men who, being down on their luck, become involved in series of comical adventures in downtown Los Angeles running scams and trying to out-smart rivals. The film is a collaboration of some of the hottest names in Latin entertainment today.

De La Paz first began to receive acclaim with the cult hit “Boulevard Nights” which was one of the first films which dealt with the Latino gang lifestyle. Selected from a “cattle-call” in which he took a chance by leaving work from a local lumberyard; De La Paz captured this role at only 21 years of age. From there he went on to star alongside Edward James Olmos in the well-received film “American Me.”

Currently riding the wave of success from his current debut film “Road Dogs” (airing now on HBO Latino and Showtime), director Alfredo Ramos lends a keen eye to the “Suckers”. In fact, Ramos was sought after for the project due to the critical acclaim that “Road Dogs” has received including such coverage in the industry trade giant “Variety.” A gifted writer who began his career in the stage play industry, Ramos has already received an award from the Smithsonian Institute for his play “The Last Angry Brown Hat” which is currently being adapted for theatrical release and will star Edward
James Olmos. “Suckers” was produced by Ramos and his brother Larry, and the two co-star in the film as well.

Set for a February, 2002 release “Suckers” will be available nationwide via Ground-Zero Entertainment distribution which is headed by Anthony Perez.
