Hispanic Marketing 101 @ $1,500 A Shot?

The US Hispanic Market seminars are now a dime a dozen … but it won’t cost you a dime. Last year alone there were over 150 seminars focusing on Multicultural Marketing. As many or more are planned for 2001.

It’s going to cost you $1,500 or more for a one or two day Hispanic Marketing 101 seminar. This is insanity!

When you take a look at the roster of the so-called experts on many of these panels, we at HispanicAd.com wonder…..

Who are they?

Where did they come from?

What do they know about the market?

Why are people so foolish to pay the exorbitant rate to get information that’s free on the web or by talking to a qualified professional?

It’s not say, that some experts are not involved on a couple of these panels. These experts should validate who are the other panelists and what they contribute towards enhancing the knowledge base of our Industries. Your credibility is also based on whom you allow yourself to be perceived with.

These conferences attract anywhere from 20 to 40 people each time on average. Obviously at $1,500 per registration, somebody is making money. Especially, when most of the panelists are not paid for their services.

Then, who is being short changed?

The naive marketer looking for solutions?

The Hispanic Advertising & Media Industries for having non-certified / non-experts carrying our torch?

Both!

We have been approached by many of the so-called professional seminar management companies. They want us to help them promote their seminars and they offer us a logo in their pamphlets.

What are they loco?

Our Hispanic trade journal Industry has access to the most influential advertising and media professionals, which have the keys to the future of the Consumer Market in America … the US Hispanic Market.

It’s not an issue of being paid for an ad in our website or our e-mail newsletter. It’s about promoting the right approach to expanding our Industries. Enhancing our bottom line is part of our business model, but not at the expense of our Industries.

We ask the professionals in our industries to become better acquainted with all of these seminars, read their literature and understand their game.

HispanicAd.com knows that the professionals in our Industries know which are the key (few) seminars to attend. Then, recommend the appropriate ones only. We owe it to ourselves.

Keep in mind, that we are taking into account the over zealous sales forces in our Industry, when we state that they are better equipped to increase the awareness and understanding of how to effectively reach Hispanic Consumers vs. attending some of these seminars.

We should become guardians of our own future by making sure that professionals looking to increase their understanding and knowledge of how to target the US Hispanic Consumer are being exposed to the appropriate information and experts.
