Hispanic Media 100 Honors Top Hispanic Journalists & Media Personalities.

TJFR Group, Inc., in association with PR Newswire, will recognize 100 of the nation’s top Spanish-language media at the inaugural Hispanic Media 100 event in Miami on the evening of August 23, 2001 at the Biscayne Bay Marriott.

“This event will recognize the community service and journalistic excellence of some of the most influential journalists and media personalities in the United States,” said Chris Day, CEO of TJFR Group. “It is an honor to pay tribute to these exceptional individuals.”

The Hispanic Media 100 represents the highest ideals and execution of Spanish-language journalists. Each year’s nominees will be screened by a distinguished nationwide panel of judges and honored at a gala dinner. In addition, as part of the annual Hispanic Media 100 festivities, the judges will induct members into the newly established Hispanic Media Ring of Honor. The Ring of Honor will celebrate members of the Hispanic media — both past and present — whose careers offered visionary leadership and paved the way for today’s Spanish-language reporters, editors and news executives.

A portion of the proceeds from the dinner and the related publication will be donated to provide scholarship funds for students seeking a master’s degree in Spanish-language journalism at Florida International University.
