NHCC: Implications Of Census Data To Be Discussed By Fortune 1000 Companies.

There are millions more Hispanics in the U.S. than predicted, according to results of the 2000 Census, just being published by the U.S. Department of Commerce. This surprising development and its impact on corporate America will be discussed by members of The National Hispanic Corporate Council at its Spring Member Meeting from April 18-20 in New York City. The theme of the meeting is “The New Hispanic”, and is being sponsored by New York Life.

On Thursday, April 19 the meeting will start with a review of the Census 2000 data, the surprising results of the more explosive growth of the Hispanic population than anticipated, and the implications this will have on corporate America. This will be followed by presentations and discussions on the Hispanic Woman of today (is she Latina, American, or Latinamerican?), Generation ñ and Latino Teens (what’s different about Latino children born in the U.S.A.). It will conclude on April 20 with a roundtable discussion with recent Hispanic graduates on their career objectives and expectations at the start of the 21st century.

There will be a variety of speakers from corporate America, major research firms specializing in this market and from the Department of Commerce’s Census Bureau.
