USHCC & Ford Motor Company Host Entrepreneur Symposium In Puerto Rico.

The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) and Ford Motor Company will host the third Empowerment Through Entrepreneurship Symposium in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The free symposium is a part of the Empowerment Through Entrepreneurship Initiative, a national effort launched by the USHCC and Ford Motor Company aimed at fostering a climate of entrepreneurial opportunity for Hispanic suppliers; establishing a mentoring program; and targeting Hispanic individuals for dealership opportunities.

“The empowerment of our Hispanic community lies in access to capital, access to wealth-accumulation capital and procurement business opportunities that position Hispanic entrepreneurs as a vital force in the U.S. economy for decades to come,” declared George Herrera, President and Chief Executive Officer of the USHCC.

The free symposium will be held on April 26 at El San Juan Hotel Resort, San Juan, Puerto Rico, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Puerto Rico symposium is the third in a series of six symposia that will be hosted in key cities throughout the country, including Chicago, Denver, and Dallas or Houston, Texas. Each symposium is for entrepreneurs actively in search of the tools and resources to promote economic growth and development of their businesses. Participants must register in advance at www.ushcc.com

“We at Ford Motor Company are proud of this partnership with the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and are committed to further enhancing its efforts in promoting and fostering Hispanic entrepreneurship and its development by empowering members of the Latino community,” said Dr. Renaldo M. Jensen, Director, Minority Supplier Development, Ford Motor Company.

At the symposium, the USHCC will also feature Deborah Rosado Shaw, founder and CEO of Umbrellas Plus, a multi-million dollar business and author of “Dream Big”. Rosado Shaw will provide an inspirational lesson on how to become a successful entrepreneur.
