FOX Sports & Ford Team Debut Revolutionary Animated Virtual Advertising.

In a breakthrough for the advertising industry, Princeton Video Image, Inc., and the FOX Sports presented the first ever dynamic, animated virtual advertisements on a live national U.S. broadcast.

The ads, for the Ford F-250 Super Duty truck, debuted during the FOX NFL Sunday pre-game show, which was broadcast live today from Ford Field in Detroit.

“Today we reached an important milestone for virtual advertising, and we’d like to commend FOX Sports and Ford for taking this next step with us,” said Roberto Sonabend, co-CEO for PVI, the global leader in virtual advertising and imaging solutions. “Today’s broadcast showcased the unique opportunities PVI can provide both advertisers and broadcasters and we hope its success will lead to more projects like this in the near future.”

The animated virtual ads featured the Ford F-250 Super Duty trucks and the “Built Ford Tough” logo. Three unique 10-second animated virtual ads ran during the live sixty-minute broadcast. TV viewers were able to see the trucks interact with the field and the stadium in different ways: bolting through an imaginary door at the mouth of the player’s tunnel, pulling a large roll of steel across the field, and uprooting a section of the stadium’s stands, each time revealing the “Built Ford Tough” logo.

PVI is best known for its Virtual First Down Line, which appears on NFL and college football broadcasts; as well as its virtual advertisements on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball and ABC’s broadcast of the Indianapolis 500.
