Radio Mercury Creative Awards launches Website.

The Radio-Mercury Awards has launched its own website, http://www.radiomercuryawards.com , with access to the 2002 Call For Entry form for the chance to one of 12 win cash prizes totaling over $150,000 and awarded in recognition of creative excellence in Radio commercials.

The site also features the latest Mercury Awards news, is complimentary and currently requires no log in. Users may download the 2002 Call For Entry, review the list of 2001 Winners and Finalists as well as all previous Winners; get the latest Mercury news; and contact the Radio-Mercury Awards.

In addition, the site offers a creative resources directory of companies that specialize in the production of Radio commercials. Future enhancements to radiomercuryawards.com will include the names of 2002 Judges and Sponsors, competition updates and news flashes as the 2002 Finalists and Winners are announced.

Since the first Radio-Mercury Awards ceremony in 1992, close to $2 million has been awarded to honor the writers and producers of the finest Radio commercials in America. Winning a Radio-Mercury Award is recognized within the agency and commercial production communities as the highest honor a Radio commercial can achieve.

Each year a $100,000 Grand Prize is awarded along with nine $5,000 General Category Prizes, one Hispanic Category Prize and one Radio Station-produced Prize. A trophy is given for the best Public Service Announcement (PSA). Finalists from each category (except the PSA category) are eligible to win the coveted Grand Prize. The 2002 Radio-Mercury Awards will be held during a luncheon ceremony on Thursday, June 6th in the Starlight Roof Room of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York.

The 2002 Call for Entry deadline is March 1, 2002. Entry fee for the 2002 Radio-Mercury Awards is $100 per commercial; PSA’s are $30 each. All entries must be received by March 1, 2002 and must have aired for the first time during the 2001 calendar year on a commercially licensed US Radio station. The late entry deadline is March 8th, with a late entry fee of $130. PSA’s remain at $30. To contact the Radio-Mercury Awards email me*****@ra*.com or call (212) 681-7216.
