Ingrid Otero Smart Elected To American Lung Association’s Council Of Regents.

Ingrid Otero-Smart, President and COO of MD&A and Managing Partner of MD&A/Salud, was recently elected to the American Lung Association’s Council of Regents. This newly formed organization is dedicated to the advancement of research in the field of lung disease and is formed from a cross section of community leaders.

“I’m honored to have been elected to form a part of this incredibly important organization. I’m excited about being able to use my skills and knowledge toward such a noble cause; one that affects us all, and especially the Hispanic community,” stated Ms. Smart. The Council of Regents will be vital in securing funding for the association’s programs, analyzing the economic needs, and recommending plans of action to continue the association’s growth.

Since the inception of the The American Lung Association almost 100 years ago, it has grown to promote research in many fields, from tuberculosis to asthma and clean air. It is with these areas in mind that the association chooses its supporting members carefully from many professions. As the Council begins it’s work, it faces challenges and responsibilities with a sense of inspiration and eagerness, the very same qualities that led to Ms. Smart’s election to the council.
