Immigration Reform Campaign To Be Launched In 30 Cities.

Leaders from the National Immigration Forum, the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, the National Council of La Raza and the Service Employees International Union are joining with dozens of community, labor and religious groups across the country to announce an ambitious nationwide campaign to collect one million post cards before the November elections.

The campaign urges President Bush and Congress to “support immigration policies that reward work by giving hard-working, tax-paying immigrants already in the United States the opportunity to earn legal status.”

Thirty cities nationwide including Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles will launch the campaign on May 15. Organizations participating on the campaign include United Farm Workers, the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union, Industrial Areas Foundation, the National Legalization Movement, the National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, Laborers International, and many others.
