El diario / LA PRENSA Kicks Off Its Feria de la Salud.

el diario / LA PRENSA in New York will host the FERIA DE SALUD (health fair), a health education day, combined with great music and entertainment for the whole family. Among the participating health organizations are Health Plus, Partners in Health, ABC Health Plan, Center Care, Fidelis/Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, Nationwide, Bellevue Hospital and Health First. A special supplement with information about Hispanics health and health care services will appear in el diario / LA PRENSA the same day of this event on Sunday, June 30th, and will be distributed at the fair.

“This FERIA DE SALUD represents for us at el diario / LA PRENSA, an extension of what we consider our responsibility towards our community, which is to inform, educate and empower Latinos, so we can build a better future for our children and generations to come. A 2001 research shows that 30% of Hispanics in the New York area have no health insurance. We have to change these outrageous statistics and inform our community about new opportunities and options for health care available to them. The FERIA DE SALUD will allow the community to learn more about what they can do to protect their health and their families’ well being,” said Rossana Rosado, Publisher & CEO, el diario / LA PRENSA.

el diario / LA PRENSA FERIA DE SALUD will be held at the Intrepid Museum, 12th Avenue @ 46th Street, Sunday, June 30, 2002, 11:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
