ESPN Teams with GW Publishing to Produce ESPN Deportes La Revista in the U.S.

ESPN announced that it has entered into an agreement with GW Publishing to publish ESPN Deportes La Revista, the company’s Spanish-language monthly magazine distributed in the U.S.

Under the terms of the agreement, GW Publishing, which already publishes ESPN The Magazine Mexico, a monthly, locally, will be responsible for production, distribution and advertising sales of ESPN Deportes La Revista . GW Publishing’s first issue of ESPN Deportes La Revista under the agreement will hit newsstands in June.

“Since its launch four years ago, ESPN Deportes La Revista has established itself as the preferred Spanish-language magazine for the U.S. Hispanic fan and for advertisers catering to this coveted segment of the population,” said Lino Garcia, general manager, ESPN Deportes. “We look forward to working with GW Publishing to continue offering this great product to Hispanic sports fans.”

Sam Pagan, who has served as publisher of ESPN Deportes La Revista for the past two years and Andoni Biurrarena who has served as editor-in-chief since 2006, will continue to lead The Magazine’s day-to-day operations as a part of the GW Publishing team. Pagan will be based in New York and report to Flores, while Biurrarena and the editorial team will continue to be based in Miami. Fernando Lopez, editor-in-chief of ESPN The Magazine Mexico, will also be part of the editorial team from the Mexico bureau.
