Opening with the theme ¡Viva el Español!, Ricky Martin tweeted about the power of Spanish language as he opened the 2011 Univision upfront event in New York city.

Followed by impressive statistics, Univision presented a compelling case for the power of Spanish language TV; therefore challenging executives and marketers to take a “total market approach” as they plan to invest their media dollars. The case is hard to argue. Hispanics are growing ten times faster than the anglo market, and today 1 out of every 2 southern Americans is Latino. Furthermore, 2010 Census results will confirm the fact that we ought to “move from multicultural marketing to marketing to a multicultural nation”, said César Conde, President of Univision during his address.
