Latin DMX Music Awards — Vote Online.

DMX Music announced the first annual Latin DMX MUSIC Awards Show, where music fans can win prizes, while positively impacting the careers of their favorite artists by voting online to determine award winners.

To celebrate May as Latin Heritage Month, DMX Music will present this exclusive two-hour audio tribute in Spanish to the hottest Latin musicians of the past year. The Latin DMX Music Awards Show will be hosted by multi-platinum recording artist India, whose 1994 album, “Dicen que Soy” (“They Say that I Am”) reached #1 on the Billboard Tropical singles chart, and went quadruple-platinum in the U.S. and Puerto Rico; and actor Erik Estrada, known worldwide for starring in
the hit television series, ChiPs and Dos Mujeres, Un Camino, an international soap opera.

Beginning May 7, fans can visit http://www.dmxmusic.com to cast votes for their favorite nominees. A pre-award show featuring the nominated artists and their songs will be aired Monday, May 7 through Sunday, May 27 on DMX Music’s “Holidays & Happenings” channel. In addition, audio clips from the nominated artists will be available on the web site. Final winners of the first annual Latin DMX Music Awards will be announced on May 28, 2001 during a special Awards show program that will air on “The DMX Listening Room” (May 28 – June 3) and “Holidays & Happenings” channels (May 28 – May 31).

Fans who participate in selecting Latin DMX Music Award winners can also enter an on-line contest, with prizes including a 45-inch Mitsubishi television, or a 5-pack set of CDs by nominated artists.
