Hoy launches Los Angeles Times / Hoy Abriendo Puertas workshops for Small Business Owners.

Hoy announced it will host “Los Angeles Times / Hoy Abriendo Puertas (opening doors),” a new series of financial workshops designed to assist Southern California Latino business communities and local owners. More than one in 10 Hispanics in the Los Angeles region are self-employed or own small businesses* and Hoy, in keeping with its mission to provide valuable news and information, is striving to empower Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs to stay competitive and vibrant. Further aligning itself directly with the local communities it serves, Hoy has designed the seminars to encourage local economic growth and attendees at each of the events will have an opportunity to win an advertising campaign in Hoy valued at $10,000.

“Hoy takes great pride in its role as a culturally relevant media source serving the Latino community and as the number of Latino business owners increase, so does the need for access to Spanish-language information and resources vital to success.”

“Studies indicate that Hispanics are starting small businesses at a faster pace than the rest of the U.S. population,” said Roaldo Morán, Hoy L.A. Publisher and General Manager. “Hoy takes great pride in its role as a culturally relevant media source serving the Latino community and as the number of Latino business owners increase, so does the need for access to Spanish-language information and resources vital to success.”
