La Vibra Partners With Music Retailers For In-Store Distribution.

La Opinión announced an agreement with Tower Records and Ritmo Latino for the free distribution of La Vibra, its weekly entertainment magazine aimed at the younger Los Angeles Latino consumer.

La Vibra is published every Thursday and distributed with all copies of La Opinión, which reaches over 600,000 daily readers. Under the new agreement announced today by La Opinión, the magazine will now enjoy additional distribution at strategic locations throughout the Los Angeles market.

La Vibra targets the younger, urban Latino in Los Angeles, ages 21-34, whose lifestyle is mirrored through comprehensive entertainment coverage with emphasis on music, movies, celebrities, the clubs scene and concerts, including a calendar of events.

“Almost half of Los Angeles Latinos are under 34 years of age. We have a large young and growing Hispanic market, looking to spend their entertainment dollars, and La Vibra aims at becoming their reliable source for entertainment information,” says Miguel Pereira, La Opinión’s Director of Marketing. “With this move we intend to reach out to those consumers in their own environment; in the music stores and other entertainment venues”. Pereira confirmed that other agreements with strategic retail partners are in the works.

“It’s a natural connection, La Vibra and Tower Records”, commented Monica Ricardez, National Latin Market Coordinator for Tower Records. “A major portion of our customer base is composed of young Hispanics, and aside from free English weeklies, there has been no Spanish language guide for this market until La Opinión came around with La Vibra”, she added. “It makes sense in that it fills a need, and I truly believe, we’re a perfect combo”.

In addition to the additional free distribution, La Vibra is embarking on a wide-ranging Marketing blitz. The magazine will be sampled at clubs, concerts, restaurants and college campuses among the young audiences attending those venues. The campaign also includes advertising in La Opinión, on certain websites and at NGN’s E-billboards throughout Los Angeles.
