La Opinión has named Ricardo Nieto as the new Marketing Manager for the publication. Nieto is responsible for the newspaper's overall marketing initiatives including advertising, promotions, market research and direct marketing. Nieto joins La Opinión from AT&T, where he managed the multicultural marketing communications for AT&T and previously for Reebok International, representing the brand in Latin America as their Marketing Manager, Americas Division.
"Rico brings over 13 years of marketing experience to the paper where he has served in a number of different marketing capacities for many companies during that span," said Miguel Pereira, La Opinión's Marketing Director. " We are extremely happy to have him because we can leverage his experiences on the agency and the client sides to bolster our marketing efforts.
As part of the Marketing team, Nieto will manage La Opinión's marketing communications directed to both the Hispanic consumer and to existing and potential advertisers targeting the Hispanic consumer in Los Angeles.
Prior to Nieto's tenure at AT&T, he worked at advertising agencies Font & Vaamonde based in Los Angeles, and Casanova Pendrill Publicidad located in Irvine, CA. He earned his Bachelors degree in International Business from Loyola Marymount University.
