Fernando Schwartz To Lead ‘Copa Refrescos de Mexico’.

Novamex announced that Mr. Fernando Schwartz is joining with the company to help promote their “Copa Refrescos de Mexico” youth soccer program. In his role as the “voice of youth soccer” for Novamex, Fernando Schwartz will lend his years as a sports/soccer broadcasting personality in Mexico and his knowledge of soccer to give credibility to this key strategic initiative.

Soccer has always been Fernando’s passion. With over 30 years of involvement in soccer as a side-line reporter, as a play-by-play announcer, as a network sports anchor with Televisa in Mexico and then here in the U.S with Telemundo, he has committed his life to a sport that is at the heart of the Latino culture. Along various stages of his sparkling career, Fernando has enjoyed such highlights as interviewing soccer icons Pele, Maradona, Hugo Sanchez, Franz Beckenbauer, Bobby Charlton, Michel Platini and Mario Zagallo, being a permanent reporter with the Mexican National Team during elimination rounds/World Cup games and creating a daily sports show on Televisa from 1977 thru 2002 which he co-hosted with legendary names in Mexican broadcasting journalism like Lolita Ayala and Jacobo Zabludovski.

“We are extremely pleased that Fernando Schwartz will be spearheading our efforts in youth soccer and are confident that this alliance will help us attain a new level of support for kids’ soccer in Hispanic communities across the country” said Ramon Carrasco. “With the help of Fernando we know that we can grow our program to more markets and generate increased visibility and participation for this important program.”
