Fiesta Broadway 2002.

Energizing performances by Latin music superstars will make the 13th annual McDonald’s Fiesta Broadway the place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

Set for Sunday, April 28, from noon to 6 p.m., in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, preparations for the big day are nearing completion.

Mexico’s queen of rock, singer and actress Alejandra Guzman, has been chosen as this year’s queen for Fiesta Broadway and will reign over the festivities and is expected to attract several generations of rock fans. This is Guzman’s first appearance at this outdoor street festival, known as one of the biggest block parties in the country. For the traditional, a special treat will be the appearance by Banda El Recodo, a Mexican Regional act, performing their famous songs and corridos. This group has been chosen as Grand Marshals because they are wildly popular and represent one of Mexico’s own native genres.

“Our line-up of international Latin music superstars on five stages cannot be seen anywhere else together, in one day and free of charge,” says Larry Gonzalez, President of All Access Entertainment, producer of Fiesta Broadway. From rock, to pop and salsa, to Mexican Regional the line-up includes: Salsa queen Celia Cruz, Charlie Zaa, Jose Luis Rodriguez “El Puma,” Alicia Villareal, Maribel Guardia, Paquita la del Barrio, and Moenia, among others.
