NBC & Telemundo Partner On Soap Opera ‘Fan Festival 2003’.

In the first joint-venture fan event, stars of NBC daytime programs and Telemundo’s popular “telenovelas” will come together for “Fan Festival 2003” on the weekend of April 5-6, illustrating the synergies that NBC is achieving with Telemundo and providing fans with a rare chance to meet their favorite stars from NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” and “Passions – as well as stars of the hottest Spanish-language telenovelas — at the Hollywood & Highland retail and entertainment complex in Hollywood, California.

The event will be emceed by Claudia Trejos, a host of Telemundo’s “Al Rojo Vivo,” who will conduct question-and-answer programs in both English (with the NBC Stars) and Spanish (with the Telemundo stars). Autograph signings will also be featured.

“Fan Festival 2003” will be co-sponsored on a national basis with Olay Daily Facials and locally with three Los Angeles-area radio stations – KIIS-FM, KYSR and KBIG-FM –along with a Spanish radio partner to be named later. The festival, which creates the ultimate international soap-opera fan experience, marks the first event joining the stars of NBC and Telemundo since NBC acquired the Spanish-language network in 2002.

“The joining of the stars of NBC Daytime with Telemundo’s hottest telenovela stars at Fan Festival 2003 adds an exciting new dimension to this fan event,” said Sheraton Kalouria, Senior Vice President, NBC Daytime Programs, NBC Entertainment. Kalouria conceived of the event to reward the loyal fans of NBC soaps and Telemundo telenovelas.

For this first time ever, telenovelas fans will be able to meet their favorite Telemundo stars as well as the casts from NBC’s popular soap operas,” said Manuel Martinez, Executive Vice President, Programming and Production.
