Super Estrella Concert @ Skyline Stage On Navy Pier in Chicago.

Super Estrella 99.9-103.9 FM is making headlines again by being the first Spanish Language Radio Station to hold a concert at one of Chicago’s Premier locations, the open air, Skyline Stage at Navy Pier, 600 East Grand Avenue.

Super Estrella will be presenting its first major concert promotion since the new format was launched in December of 2000. Super Estrella “Numero Uno en Exitos”, is the Contemporary Spanish Hits Radio Station in Chicago. The concert is titled, “Parranda Super Estrella 2002”! Elvis Crespo Grammy nominee in 2000 began his career “Suavemente” (Softly), paving his own destiny, looking to make a name for himself among the outstanding figures of tropical music. “Suavemente”, reached number one on the Billboard National Hot Latin Top 40 and remained their for seven consecutive weeks, breaking the record for the longest standing tropical act to be number one. Elvis is one of the few Latinos to perform on The David Letterman Show. After taking a leap from the record studios he is back with his new album “Urbano”.

Fey has sold over a million records throughout the worldwide Latin community. Fey’s self-titled debut was released in America in 1995, followed one year later by “Tierna La Noche”, El Color De Los Sueños in 1998, Exitos Fey in 2000 and now she is back with a new album, new sound, new image and new language. On May 21st, she will release her new album “Vertigo”.

Rabanes formed in the town of Chitre, Panama, in 1995 with their CD debut “Porque Te Fuiste Benito?” And the single “un Suicidio en Nueva York” became major hits in Central America. MTV began airing the band’s video. Los Rabanes broke through on the national charts and began touring with Mana, Maldita Vecindad and Fabulosos Cadillacs. In October the CD went to Number 1 on CMJ’s alternative chart. The three man group newest release is “Money Pa’ Que”.

Shalim born amid light and fame, this talented Puerto Rican born artist continues an artistic lineage originating with his parents Charytin and Elin Ortiz, two admired figures within the Latin entertainment world. After three-years in the university, he realized that his happiness lay in the arts and moved back to Miami with the firm resolve of becoming a singer. Shalim’s first contemporary pop music album fuses African percussion and Middle-Eastern and Asian influences with music of his own heritage.
