Telemundo Provides Live Coverage Of Toyota’s 2002 Camry Tour.

The Telemundo Network announced that it will provide live coverage of Toyota coast-to-coast road trip to promote the all-new 2002 Camry. The 11-city promotional tour “El Viaje de tu Vida” (The Journey of Your Life) begins on Thursday, September 6 from New York and ends September 17 in Los Angeles. Manolo Cardona, who is featured in the Toyota Camry Latino advertising campaign, will travel with fellow actress and star Paola Rey. Telemundo will cover the entire 11-city tour, providing daily live reports from Cardona and Rey during Ocurrió Así, 5 to 6PM ET/PT, and in primetime between 7:30 and 8:00 PM ET/PT. Telemundo also will offer a recap of the previous day’s trip every morning on Esta Mañana 7:00 to 9:00 AM ET and Cotorreando, 12 noon to 1 PM ET/PT.

The cross-country tour kicks off live from New York’s Lincoln Center, where Paola Rey reports on tonight’s preparation of the MTV Awards. On Friday, September. 7 following the broadcast of Esta Mañana from Telemundo’s studios in Miami, Cardona and Rey will jump into their new 2002 Camry and drive to Orlando’s Universal Studios. From Orlando, the tour continues on to Panama City’s Club La Vela (September 8), New Orleans’ famed Jackson Square in the French Quarter (September 9), Houston at the site of the San Jacinto Monument (September 10), San Antonio’s The Alamo (September 11), Buck-Horn Resort in El Paso (September 12), Tucson’s The Old Town (September 13), Sedona at the Red Rocks National Park (September 14), Las Vegas at Cesar’s Palace (September 15), and ending in Los Angeles at the Hollywood sign on September 17.

In addition to an extensive on-air promotion that began August 27 starring Paola Rey, Telemundo will offer viewers the opportunity to follow Cardona and Rey cross-country on Telemundo’s Web site www.telemundo.com. Both celebrities will keep daily diaries and record their impressions of the sites that they visit. A photographer will provide a montage of photos along the way and will be posted daily on the Web site. Viewers will also be invited to enter the “El Viaje de tu Vida” chat room to provide commentary.

The tour is part of Toyota’s multi-platform marketing campaign to promote the all-new 2002 Camry. The Latino marketing campaign was created by Conill Advertising, a subsidiary of Saatchi & Saatchi, and includes personalities from the Latino community including Celia Cruz, the queen of salsa; Sylvia Tcherassi, a fashion designer; and Manolo Cardona, Colombian novela star. The advertising campaign launched on September 3.
