Spanish Broadcasting System has announced the appointment of Gino "Latino" Reyes to the position of Program Director of WSKQ-FM "Mega 97.9" and WPAT-FM "93.1 Amor", New York. The announcement was made in New York by Carey Davis, Vice-President/General Manager of the stations.
Carey Davis says both WSKQ-FM and WPAT-FM represent programming opportunities. "Mega 97.9 is already one of the top stations in New York and yet has even more potential for growth .We believe 93.1 Amor offers a great programmer the opportunity to increase its audience substantially. Gino will program the only two full signal FM's playing Spanish-language music in New York. We're looking forward to great things."
The 38-year-old Reyes joins SBS from Clear Channel/Miami, where he most recently was the morning host for Mega 103.5 FM. His 17-year programming career includes being the first program director of WXDJ, Miami's top-rated "El Zol 95", where he worked with Pio Ferro, now SBS National Program Director. Reyes also programmed WRTO/Miami, and has been a disc jockey on several stations in both English and Spanish, including Power 96 and Y-100/Miami.
