HOT OFF THE NET: Gary Stone – Sr. VP & COO @ Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation.

Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation announced the appointment of Gary Stone as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and the appointment of David Lykes as Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs.

Mr. Lykes will be stepping aside as Chief Operating Officer to fulfill his new duties as Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs for HBC. With over forty years experience in the broadcasting industry, predominantly in Hispanic radio, Mr. Lykes has been a key contributor to the success of HBC.

Mr. Stone has been with HBC for over fifteen years, serving as General Manager in Houston and most recently in Los Angeles. He brings with him many years of experience in the broadcasting industry, as well as extensive knowledge of converting English radio stations to Spanish. Since the beginning of his career in the broadcasting business in 1969, Mr. Stone has served in various positions such as DJ, LSM, GSM and ultimately as General Manager.

Mr. Stone commented, “I am looking forward to putting my fingerprint on all of HBC’s markets as I have done in Houston and most recently in Los Angeles. I believe my experience in the broadcasting industry coupled with my philosophies of strategic planning and problem solving will enhance operations and performance across the board.”

McHenry T. Tichenor, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer commented, “As we begin the transition in the COO position, I am very excited that Gary Stone has accepted this responsibility. Gary’s combination of experience, knowledge of our culture, and demonstrated effectiveness make him the perfect successor to David Lykes.”
