MLS – L.A. Galaxy Extends Broadcast Contract With HBC’s KTNQ-AM.

The Los Angeles Galaxy and the Hispanic Broadcasting Corporation have entered into a wide-ranging, two-year broadcasting agreement, it was announced by Doug Hamilton, VP-GM of the LA Galaxy and Ken Christensen, VP-GM of HBC, Los Angeles.

Under the terms of the deal HBC, the largest Spanish-language radio broadcaster in the nation, will provide coverage of both home and away games of the LA Galaxy, the Major League Soccer franchise operated by the Anschutz Entertainment Group. HBC will also broadcast the “Galaxy Hour,” the popular talk/call-in show broadcast on KTNQ on Thursday nights.

“We are pleased that HBC will be our Spanish language broadcaster,” said Hamilton. “They have become a valuable partner in helping the Galaxy serve its fans and advertisers, whether it’s through the Galaxy Hour, or day-of-game programming. Like the Galaxy’s commitment to offering exciting soccer action, HBC’s commitment to providing its listeners with high-quality news and entertainment programming, has been well-established.”

Additionally, the two companies will collaborate on a number of unique marketing initiatives, as well as on-air and on-site promotions. HBC also will have an enhanced presence at all Galaxy games and related events.

“The Galaxy has established itself as one of the city’s premier sports franchises, and we are delighted to be the Spanish-language broadcast home for them,” said Christensen. “This agreement will help us extend the reach of our programming, while ensuring that our listeners will have an unequalled source for news and coverage of their favorite soccer team.”
