US Youth Soccer Partners With MLS.

Major League Soccer (MLS) and US Youth Soccer have announced a strategic partnership combining the efforts of both organizations designed to reach out to the millions of soccer participants nationwide.

Under the terms of the agreement, US Youth Soccer receives a nonexclusive designation as an “Official Grassroots Partner of MLS.” The “MLS Youth Spotlight” program will highlight the partnership and feature former US Youth Soccer players who now play in MLS while also recognizing current youth teams and players. The two organizations will work with MLS teams to develop and promote “US Youth Soccer Days” at MLS matches.

“Developing relationships with organizations such as US Youth Soccer is instrumental in making a personal connection with the entire American soccer community,” said Noonan. “By combining our resources and marketing efforts aimed at those who currently have an affinity for soccer, we will be expanding our presence nationwide and ultimately building relationships with the future fans and stars of Major League Soccer.”

“This alliance is an important step in strengthening the sport in the United States,” said Cosgrove. “This relationship is vital to our members in understanding that there exists an aspiration element at the end of their experience of playing US Youth Soccer.”

Through the agreement, US Youth Soccer receives a variety of promotional and marketing rights from MLS, including use of MLS and team marks, tickets, appearances, advertising in MLS publications, website links and select signage at MLS games.

Additionally, MLS will receive benefits through US Youth Soccer including, use of US Youth Soccer logos, website content and links, direct marketing opportunities to members, and space and signage at US Youth Soccer associated meetings, conventions and events.
