Tom Marsillo comments on Interep Chapter 7 filing and future of Spanish-Language representation.

Oct-27-2008

Tom Marsillo President of Azteca America Spot Television Sales and Hispanic Independent Television Sales was very candid about the future the Hispanic focused television representation divisions after the parent company Interep who was in Chapter 11 protection filed for Chapter 7 to begin liquidating their assets.

Over the last year, the growth of these two Hispanic focused divisions as outpaced growth in any other division in the company. Their 2009 plans project healthy growth.

Mr. Marsillo advised us that the Interep Chapter 7 filing is a very serious and unfortunate occurrence for the wholly industry and not only the Hispanic Market. He also stated that due to the growth and scope of both Azteca America Spot Television Sales and Hispanic Independent Television Sales he has at least four different equity options to continue operating both divisions that will be revealed shortly. A fate that seems much brighter than Interep as a whole.

Azteca America Spot Television Sales represents TV affiliates associated with Azteca America. Hispanic Independent Television Sales includes DIRECTV Mas, DISH Latino, Si TV, Sorpresa, GolTV, Caracol International, TV Dominicana, TV Chile, TV Colombia, Mega TV, WAPA-America, Centro-America TV, Latele-Novela Network, La Familia Cosmovision and Cable Noticias.

The fate of the radio division that represents Spanish Broadcasting System radio stations was not clear at this moment.

¡Suerte!
