Telemundo announces digital distribution deal with MSN.

Nov-17-2008

Telemundo announced it will unveil the new www.telemundo.com on January 1, 2009. As part of the network's digital evolution, the re-vamped site will serve as the online home for all things Telemundo, providing an enhanced entertainment experience for its audience and offering its advertisers and partners unique sponsorship opportunities.

Telemundo also announced a new deal with MSN, which will include distribution of the new Telemundo.com through MSN Latino and other International MSN portals, as well as use of MSN video technology and ad serving. With multiple links across MSN Latino, the US Hispanic audience will be invited to enter the new Telemundo.com site launching on January 1, 2009. The agreement will allow for collaboration between MSN Latino and Telemundo that builds off the existing relationship between parent companies NBCU and MSN. Telemundo is currently a leading player in web video consumption with over 10,000,000 streams monthly. The powerful combination of MSN video technology with Telemundo's original programming is designed to drive Hispanic video web consumption even higher.

"After three successful years building Telemundo's digital identity with Yahoo and evangelizing digital media, we are ready for the next step," said Peter Blacker, Executive Vice President Digital Media and Emerging Businesses. "We are thrilled to partner with MSN Latino on our new venture tapping into their user base with our unique video content."

"Our audience is looking to maximize their entertainment experience and advertisers are looking for new ways to connect with our audience," added Jacqueline Hernández, Chief Operating Officer, Telemundo. "By having our own website it will allow the Telemundo group to get even more insight on who is online and why."

"We're thrilled to team with Telemundo to offer additional content to our MSN Latino users," said Greg Nelson, general manager, MSN. "This new programming will provide customers with even more ways to stay engaged on both our MSN Latino site and Telemundo's new online home."
