May-27-2009

Lativisión, a content provider for the upcoming DTT Hispanic broadcasters of the United States, initiated its telecasting tests last week, coinciding with the LA Screenings, announced Alexander Fiore, CEO of Lativisión, LLC.

Following the analogical blackout that will take place next June, Lativisión will broadcast regularly from Monday through Sunday, serving several digital broadcasters from the top Hispanic markets of the United States. Lativisión has selected top suppliers that will provide a wide selection of premium programming, such as TV Globo, Mediaset, Televen, the Spanish broadcasters Telemadrid and ETB; among other important U.S. producers, such as Sky Quest, Gem Media, and Central de Telecontenidos.

“We are proud to make of Lativisión an authentic referral of quality and variety for the Spanish-speaking audience of the U.S., offering an array of the best and most diverse international productions, as well as  the best commercial effectiveness, said Alexander Fiore, CEO of the new channel. “As we approach the analogical blackout, we at Lativisión are ready to face the future of Digital Television because we go hand-in-hand with it; and our goal is to satisfy the needs and interests of our Hispanic community; a segment that is growing stronger by the day and becoming one of the most representative community of this country”, added the executive.

Listed among its shareholders are Mr. Alexander Fiore and Ms. Mercedes Pedre-Fiore, founders of Latele Novela Network; Mr. German Pérez Nahim, General Manager and VP of Production Programming and Marketing for the Venezuelan Channel Televen; and José María Besteiro, President of Distrivision, a Spanish Company that, as with Lativisión today, has been pioneer in the distribution of DTT channels in Europe.

With headquarters in Miami, Lativisión becomes the first TV content provider created with the sole purpose of offering DTT services to stations located in Hispanic communities within the United States.
