Arvesu named News Director at Univision Chicago.

Univision Communications Inc. announced the appointment of Teri Arvesu as news director for Univision Chicago. In this capacity, Arvesu will define newsroom priorities and strategies. She will be based in Chicago and report to Larry Sands, regional vice president of Univision Chicago.
 
“We are very pleased to welcome Teri in her new role as news director,” said Sands. “She has proven to be one of the most diligent and hard working individuals on the Univision team and I am certain she will continue to be a driving force in delivering on our commitment of informing, entertaining and empowering the Hispanic community in Chicago.”
 
Arvesu most recently served as executive producer for WLTV Univision 23 in Miami co-managing a team of more than 50 journalists and supervising day-to-day operations and special projects in the newsroom. Prior to joining Univision in 2003 as a line producer at WLTV, Arvesu worked at Telemundo for more than 10 years in a variety of capacities including Weekend News and Special Projects Producer as well as in promotions.
 
In 2007, Arvesu was selected to be a McCormick Tribune Fellow through the Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management & the Medill School of Journalism. Additionally, she has been published in leading publications including El Nuevo Herald, a division of The Miami Herald. She currently serves on the National Academy of Arts & Television Suncoast Chapter Board and is the chair of the Miami Chapter of Univision’s Women’s Leadership Council.
