Canal SUR offers programming from Argentina.

Canal SUR presents one of the most popular shows in Argentina.

Titled “Periodismo para todos” (“Journalism for Everyone”), it’s hosted by Jorge Lanata, one of the biggest figures in Latin American journalism. Journalist, author and founder of periodicals such as Pagina/12, Crítica and Veintitres, and also known as the “wild Argentinean bull,” Lanata devotes 120 minutes to the best investigative journalism focused on the world of Argentinean politics, touching on subjects that range from corruption and censorship to prostitution and other social issues.

The indefatigable Latana doesn’t slow down: among other things, his professional trajectory has taken him to radio, theater, the printed press and documentaries. His two best sellers: — Argentinos I and Argentinos II — have already become mandatory reading at schools. And Latana doesn’t keep quiet, either: his sharp criticisms have made him “Argentina’s most beloved and hated journalist” (per the title of his recent biography), making his points of view a must-know for any Argentinean who’s interested in current affairs.

Now, by anchoring “Periodismo para todos” on Canal Trece, he accomplished the impossible: his show beat soccer by two and a half rating points. Gracing the cover of Rolling Stone magazine for a second time, Lanata beat the most sacred of sports with his accusations and analysis of Argentina’s political life.
