Beginning July 1st, CNN en Español’ s audience will see changes on the screen among its most prominent journalists who will bring new programming that will strengthen the network’s original content.

Camilo Egaña will join the network’s primetime lineup with his new talk show Kmilo at 9 PM ET. This daily space celebrates the art of conversation mixing the interesting with the important, and sarcasm with warmth. Kmilo is a program that will bring the biggest names in politics, culture, science, sports or entertainment.  The show will replace Cala as host Ismael Cala has decided to pursue his career as an author and motivational speaker.

Kmilo will be spiced with a dose of sense of humor and transgression that also offers the audience, through the network’s social media, the ability to ask questions and make their own comments. "This is more than a challenge, it is an honor and a huge responsibility. It’s interesting, that even with 30 years of a career, I feel as if everything starts again. Everyone should feel this at least once in a lifetime. It is a wonderful feeling. I leave Encuentro with some mixed feelings, sadness because it has been a daily pretext to accompany people and create a loyal and demanding audience, and also because I leave a great team of producers with whom I share the glorious feeling of friendship. Nevertheless, the happy note is that my partner Guillermo Arduino will host Encuentro, and Arduino is synonymous of good quality,” said Egaña.

Arduino, who currently hosts the Daytime Emmy Award-winning Program, Clix, will leave the weekend show Mirador Mundial to take over Encuentro from Monday through Friday at 5 PM ET. "Today I see that all the instances CNN International and CNN en Español exposed me to for the last 17 years prepared me for this unique opportunity and I am ready for this challenge. I am also immensely grateful with CNN executives and the audience. I cannot wait to be on the Encuentro set on July 1,”said Arduino.

Ismael Cala, who joined CNN en Español in 2001 and who hosted his successful talk show Cala for almost 6 years, will leave the network in July to focus on his motivational career as a speaker and author.

Upon his departure, Ismael Cala said, “A great learning cycle has closed and I want to thank CNN en Español’ s Senior Vice President and General Manager Cynthia Hudson, the VP of Programming and Production Eduardo Suarez, and the rest of the executive team for the confidence they had in me during all this time.  I'll be eternally grateful to my great production team. I enjoyed the journey and growth in the program, but now it is time for me to break paradigms, explore new horizons and reinvent myself. I also want to give a very special thanks to our viewers, throughout this continent, for their affection and the love they have given me every day.”

On weekends, Rafael Romo will assume Mirador Mundial, a news program that airs every Saturday and Sunday at 6 PM ET. “I feel honored to be part of CNN en Español, a privilege that will allow me to continue pursuing my passion in covering news events in the region, something that reconnects me with my Mexican roots. I will continue working with passion to bring the audience accurate and relevant information.”
