FOX Deportes Turns 20

On Nov. 1, 1996, FOX Deportes launched as the first Spanish-language sports network in the United States, and throughout the month of November the network celebrates its 20th anniversary. In celebration of this milestone, the company unveils new graphics and music to kick off a new era.

“As a company we have been bold and taken risks to compete in an ever-growing marketplace,” said Carlos Sanchez, Executive Vice President & General Manager, FOX Deportes. “We’ve devoted resources and acquired rights with a wide range of leagues to continue delivering relevant content to our viewers year after year. We are committed to continue leading the way and evolving to meet the needs of our viewers.”

The month of November is highlighted by some of the network’s premier properties and jewel events including the World Series, MLS Playoffs, Thanksgiving Day NFL football, UFC and UEFA Champions League with Super Bowl LI and the UEFA Champions League Final coming to FOX Deportes in the coming months. FOX Deportes is the first Spanish-language sports network in the United States and has televised some of the most important sporting events in the world such as Super Bowl XLVIII, the Daytona 500 and World Series, setting viewership records along the way. Super Bowl XLVIII still counts as the most-watched non-soccer event in Spanish-language cable history

To mark its 20-year anniversary, FOX Deportes partnered with Emmy Award-winning composer Jeff Beal, who was most recently recognized for his score and theme for the Netflix drama “House of Cards,” to compose new theme music. Beal worked with the network’s design team to develop a number of tracks that capture the essence of the network. The new graphics package is two- and three-dimensional in appearance and features a more vibrant color palette while still maintaining the FOX DNA. As part of the new look, a different color will be displayed for each property and show, giving each its own unique identity.
