Telemundo 48 extends SF Giants partnership

The San Francisco Giants today announced that Telemundo 48 Area de la Bahía / KSTS will continue to be the official Spanish-language television partner of the 2014 World Series Champion San Francisco Giants.

As part of the partnership, Telemundo 48 will air, for the first-time, a live Spanish-language broadcast of the September 12 game where the San Francisco Giants face the San Diego Padres. The broadcast will also feature “Fiesta Gigantes,” a cultural celebration produced by the San Francisco Giants and Telemundo 48, that highlights and honors the Bay Area’s rich Hispanic heritage.

“The Giants value the support of the Bay Area Hispanic community and believe our partnership with Telemundo 48 will allow us to strengthen our relationship with our Hispanic fans and the viewers of KSTS,” said Jason Pearl, Managing Vice President, Giants Sponsorship and New Business Development.

“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the San Francisco Giants and honored to be associated with the Bay Area’s three-time World Series winning champs,” said Rich Cerussi, President and General Manager, Telemundo 48. “Giants baseball is a passion that is lived by all of our communities, from the first pitch to the final seconds of the last inning and beyond. We look forward to giving our viewers the opportunity to watch, for the first-time ever, a live Giants game broadcast in Spanish right here on Telemundo 48.”

Additionally, Telemundo 48 will produce Telemundo Deportivo Edicion Gigantes, a half-hour sports program hosted by Giants Spanish-language broadcaster Erwin Higueros and Telemundo 48 sports anchor Gabriel Sotelo.
