Univision announces New Season Schedules 2014-15

Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) announced the new season 2014-15 programming line-ups for its Univision Network and UniMás broadcast and Galavisión cable networks.

Among the highlights premiering this season on Univision will be a brand new reality singing competition, “Va por Ti” (All for You), that will scour the country for talented singers who will compete in a unique elimination format in search of Latin music’s next star. Airing on Sunday nights, “Va por Ti” will premiere on September 7 from 8 to 11 p.m. ET/PT, followed by season four of entertainment magazine show “Sal y Pimienta” (Salt and Pepper) at 11 p.m ET/PT.

The heart of Univision’s primetime weeknight schedule will continue to include three hours of one of television’s hottest genres – telenovelas – from the leading global producer, Televisa, and airing Monday through Friday at 8, 9 and 10 p.m. ET/PT. The new 2014-15 season will continue to keep fans glued to their seats with three of the most highly-anticipated dramas in the network’s history.  “Hasta el Fin del Mundo” (Until the End of Time) which premiered this past Monday, August 18 and stars Marjorie de Sousa as Sofia, the oldest of three sisters, who takes the helm of her family’s Chocolate business after her father’s death. “La Malquerida” (The Unloved), premiering August 25 and starring Victoria Ruffo, Ariadne Díaz and Christian Meier that explores the ramifications of when a mother and daughter both fall for the same man.

“La Gata” (The Stray Cat), premieres September 1st at 7 p.m. ET/PT and will give way to the primetime block. Starring Mexican actress, model and former member of Pop singing sensation RBD, Maite Perroni, this is a story of a poor girl scraping by in the poorest part of town who befriends boy from a privileged family who refuses to accept her socially.

On November 20th, Univision Network will broadcast the 15th edition of Latin music’s biggest night, the Latin GRAMMYs®, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, honoring and celebrating the very best recording artists from all over the Latin music world.

On UniMás this new season, in addition to the its nightly presentation of Hollywood’s best and biggest blockbuster movies, the network will continue its highly successful strategy of offering alternative, contemporary dramas including “El Chivo” (The Goat), premiering September 16 and based on a novel by Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa and set in the 1950’s, it tells the untold story of the Dominican Republic’s abusive dictator, Rafael Trujillo. Also premiered this season on August 11 is an entirely new kind of daytime talk show called “El Palenque de Enrique Santos,” starring famed Univision Radio personality Enrique Santos.

This season finds the hapless norteño band on the run in Cuba where they are mistaken for terrorists and find themselves pursued by both fans and the police.
